James Dean Caruso is a Los Angeles based artist whose work is driven by a desire to engage with and evolve within the living world. His intricate drawings and paintings employ a densely detailed, mark-making technique that produces realized landscapes of movement and expansion. Organic forms are developed through this repetitive process, inspired by passages of time and the progession of growth. Themes of solitude and wonder as well as the desire to find connection and harmony with something greater than the self are explored through the ritual and endurance of his practice.
